COMPOSITE DECKING
Atkins Vause is Blackburn’s specialist decking company.
Composite decking is a manmade product using a combination of reclaimed wood and plastic, giving you the best qualities of both materials. The plastic shields the wood from moisture and insect damage, so there's no rotting or splintering. The wood protects the plastic from UV damage and gives your deck a solid, natural feel. Composite decking looks great year after year and because there is no need to spend hours staining or repairing, the enjoyment is truly timeless.

Each year Atkins Vause Ltd has experienced an ever-increasing interest and demand for composite decking installations. With its low maintance benefits and long term value for money many domestic and commercial customers our choosing composite decking systems over timber.
In 2005 Atkins Vause Ltd where approached by Trex to construct a large modular composite decking system to be used on several exhibitions. This contract helped us to gain valuable experience and set us on our way to becoming the No.1 installer for Trex composite decking in the UK. We have since completed many composite decking projects and feel confident in our ability working with composite.
Trex is the oldest and largest manufacturer of composite decking in the US and during 2006 experienced tremendous growth in its Home grown sales of composite decking to such an extent that it could no longer meet demand and therefore has suspended any export to the UK or Europe for the foreseeable future. However although Trex are the market leader in composite decking it does not mean there aren’t other products as good if not even better available to the UK. Although different brands of composite decking have the same benefits, what makes them different are the choices of colours and textures of composite decking available. Many composite decking manufacturers are offering complete composite decking systems that include rails, posts and balusters to add to the elegance of your deck.
Atkins Vause Ltd, a forward thinking company, has invested both its time and money to thoroughly research the current composite decking materials available in the UK and to purchase the necessary recommended equipment to fit it.
We have chosen to offer TimberTech from America and Werzalit Terraza from Germany. Both composite decking brands are similar in cost but have different merits.

Timbertech is a smooth solid heavy composite decking board with a realistic grain pattern carved into the surface. There is a very extensive range of composite decking boards and handrail products available in several different colours.
Werzalit Terraza is a very light weight, hollow grooved profile composite decking board available in 4 colours that interlocks with hidden fastenings and new for 2007 is a composite decking tile that can be used with the standard composite decking board to produce some great effects
